A rare gem is this small Dan mask from the Coast.The mask is believed to be a box mask equipped with a metal blade for anchorage on the ground. It bears the classic Dan countenance featuring a nose-frontal rib. The eyes, , are adorned with paint. The reverse side of the mask is cloaked with red fabric gleaming with cowries, concealing the wood with its weathered facade.
